Classic Maryland Style Hot Crab Dip

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Scallion (Green Onion), thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 teaspoons Seafood Seasoning, like Old Bay Brand
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 dashes Hot Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon Mustard
  • 16 ounces Crab Meat

Instructions

  1. In a mixer or in a large bowl with a hand mixer, add cream cheese and blend until smooth and no lumps. Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, Worcestershire, lemon juice, seafood seasoning, hot sauce and 1 ½ cups of cheese. Blend until fully combined and there are no remaining cream cheese lumps. Add the crab meat and scallion, gently fold to combine using a rubber spatula. Transfer the mixture to baking dishes and cover with the remaining ½ cup of cheese. Place under a medium broiler, about 4” from the element and cook about 5 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the dip is heated through. Serve with crostini, pretzel chips, crudité, the options are endless.
